Chapter 11 — Unauthorized Access

“The forensic audit,” Dean Harrow read, “identified unauthorized access to the fabricated evidence originating from a cloud account registered to Stephanie Vance.”

The silence that fell was total, and then, from somewhere near the back of the hall, a single voice: “Oh my God.”

Down at the end of the aisle, Luca Reed stood up abruptly from his seat and began to move toward the exit, fast, his head down.

And from the side entrance of the auditorium, two campus police officers stepped quietly into view and into his path.

Luca stopped.
