“I made more than the will.”

I stopped folding.

“What does that mean?”

He rubbed his thumb along the edge of the chair arm.

“It means Bennett will explain what she needs to explain.”

That answer bothered me more than silence would have.

I put the folded blanket on the dresser and straightened the corner.

“Are you leaving me the house?”

Walter looked directly at me then.

“The house is where you live.”

“That was not my question.”
