“No.”

“Then why?”

“Because I want to know what it’s like to wake up somewhere my day hasn’t already been planned for me.”

Evelyn watched my face.

Then said:

“Let’s find you a lawyer before the movers arrive.”

That was the first plan we made that day I didn’t feel compelled to justify.
