Chapter 9 — The Trap

I still said nothing to Solomon.

This surprises people, when I tell the story — that I sat across from my husband at dinner for days, knowing everything, and let him go on believing he was safe.

But I had learned, from a lifetime of negotiating, that you do not reveal your position until revealing it accomplishes something, and premature confrontation accomplishes nothing but warning your opponent.

So I waited for the right moment, and the right moment came to me.
