The boathouse. They meant to move me into the boathouse on my own property. Not for my comfort. For the porch. The lake view. The bedrooms. The kitchen.
Eleanor’s furniture. Everything she had chosen to leave to me.
Madison finally looked up from her phone. “Does this place even have decent Wi-Fi?” Cooper just shrugged.
Rebecca shot them a quick glance and turned back to me. “It’ll only be temporary. Just until everything gets settled.”
Settled. I knew exactly what that meant. They’d move in first. Rearrange everything. Claim every room. Within a year I’d be a guest in Eleanor’s home.
