Part Six: Five, Ten, Twenty

What was actually in it was thirty-one years of small deposits.

I went through the whole book that first night at my kitchen table with the reading glasses I keep in the car, and then I did it again two days later with a legal pad, because I am a medical billing coder and the only genuine skill I have is reading a column of figures and noticing when the rhythm changes.
