Seven months after our divorce, I rushed into St. Jude’s Children’s and Women’s Hospital, still angry at my ex-wife, only to learn that she had just given birth to twin boys, and both of them were mine. Before the night was over, a nurse would place a brass key in my hand and tell me to use it before my own family arrived. And what was waiting for me beyond that was even more shocking.
“I have it with me,” he answered.
“Bring that plan straight to the Laurel Street estate right now,” I ordered.
“I can’t go back to that property tonight, Alexander!” he protested nervously.
“Then bring it straight here to St.
Jude’s Hospital,” I instructed firmly.
He hesitated for a long moment.
“Alexander, if I walk into that hospital lobby, your mother’s legal team will see me right away,” he warned nervously.
“She already knows everything else that’s happened tonight,” I said coldly.
