Seven months after our divorce, I rushed into St. Jude’s Children’s and Women’s Hospital, still angry at my ex-wife, only to learn that she had just given birth to twin boys, and both of them were mine. Before the night was over, a nurse would place a brass key in my hand and tell me to use it before my own family arrived. And what was waiting for me beyond that was even more shocking.
“Then why does this plan show a working access point near the greenhouse?” I demanded.
“Because the passage was never actually sealed from the inside,” Marcus revealed softly.
I looked at him with sharp eyes.
“What exactly did my mother’s security team find when they searched the house today?” I demanded.
“I don’t know,” Marcus claimed softly.
“You’re the one who let them in through the main gate,” I reminded him coldly.
“I gave them the gate code, but I drove off before they went into the house,” Marcus insisted.
“Why did you drive off?” I pressed, wanting his real reason.
