The security technician came to inspect the system, and he found that while the primary power cable to the external router had indeed been cut, the unit itself possessed an internal battery backup and an offline storage card, one that had gone on recording, silently, and had automatically synced to a private cloud server the moment the system was reconnected.

The footage was not lost.
