He could not dismiss as emotional a tiredness he was feeling in his own body.
The work taught him what I never could, and the teaching was permanent, because it was not an idea he had adopted but a reality he had lived.
That is the thing I most want other women in my position to understand, the hardest and most useful thing I learned: that you do not have to wait for a man to feel like an equal partner before you require him to be one.
