Someone Tried to End My Story
It is one of the few reliable mercies of my work: that evil is rarely as solid as it pretends to be, that it is usually held together not by loyalty but by profit, and that when you remove the profit, it turns on itself with a speed that would be almost funny if the wreckage were not so real.
