Howard stared at his son in disbelief. Laurel whispered her son’s name, her voice carrying more warning than affection.
Naomi began edging quietly toward the hallway, looking for an exit. “I don’t know anything about business documents or loans.”
Emilia lifted another page from her folder. “Perhaps not, Ms. Fields. But you’re listed as the managing member of Crestwood Media Services.”
Naomi stopped walking. “I’ve never heard of that company.”
Emilia turned the page around so everyone could see the registration. “Then it’s highly unfortunate that the company is registered directly to your apartment address.”
The silence that followed seemed to widen the whole kitchen. Over the previous nine months, Landen’s agency had paid more than $600,000 to Crestwood Media Services for consulting and production work.
