That was the first moment I nearly lost my composure. Not because he had another woman in my kitchen, nor because his mother was handling my belongings — but because he’d already decided where our son would live, as though Cedric were another piece of furniture to be assigned.

I set the papers down on the island, turned my head, and looked directly at Naomi. “Take off my robe.”
