“He might. He’s already got a restitution order he hasn’t touched.” I put my card on the table. “You don’t have to decide today. Gavin will talk to you for free for as long as you want, because I’ve paid for it, and that’s the only thing I’m giving you.”
They have not filed. It has been eleven months. Gavin’s office calls them every eight weeks and Walter is for it and Shirley is not, and I have stopped predicting.
Chapter 15 — Emma
Emma McDowell is twenty-eight and lives in Savannah and works in communications for a hospital system.
