Right now I needed evidence, not tears.
I scrolled to Harrison — my closest friend from college, now a cybersecurity consultant.
“Harrison, it’s Stella. I need a favor, off the books,” I said the moment he picked up. “I need to trace a digital footprint and a location. My marriage and my finances depend on it.”
There was a pause on the line that went on a beat too long.
“Off the books how far?” he said.
“As far as it takes.”
