The 2012 radiocarbon program produced results that were broadly consistent with the stratigraphic sequence documented by the excavations.

The pre-Clovis layers produced dates in the expected range.

The dates from materials throughout the sequence were consistent with the stratigraphic positions of those materials.

The anomalies that would indicate major stratigraphic mixing — dates in the wrong order relative to their position, or dates that were wildly inconsistent with the surrounding materials — were not apparent.

This does not prove that every coprolite in the oldest layers was exactly where it was originally deposited, or that no DNA movement through sediment had occurred at all.

It does substantially strengthen the case that the stratigraphic integrity of the site was sufficient to support the interpretation that the pre-Clovis materials were genuinely from the period indicated by the dates.
