For the person who makes the multi-day trek to Roraima’s summit, what does the actual experience of the place consist of?

The first day of approach through the Gran Sabana is dominated by Roraima’s visual presence — the mountain on the horizon, growing larger with each kilometer, its flat top and vertical walls becoming more distinct.

The savanna through which the approach trail passes is itself biologically rich — the Gran Sabana is a mosaic of open grassland, gallery forest along streams, and patches of denser forest that support an array of bird species and other wildlife.
