The specific sub-clade E1b1b1b2b is found primarily in North Africa, reflecting the deep African roots of NUE001’s paternal line.

Together, the mitochondrial and Y-chromosome haplogroups paint a picture consistent with the autosomal genome analysis: an individual whose maternal and paternal lines were primarily rooted in the North African and West Asian populations, consistent with an origin in the Nile Valley during the Early Dynastic and Old Kingdom periods.

These haplogroup findings also connect NUE001 to modern populations in a general way.
