Working through those sediments, the archaeologists recovered more than 1,500 human bone specimens representing at least sixty-two individuals.

The range of ages represented in the burial population was striking.

Infants.

Children.

Adults of various ages.

Elderly individuals — or what counted as elderly in the prehistoric Plateau, which may not have been very old by modern standards.

Both males and females were present.

The pattern was consistent with a community cemetery: a place where people were brought over generations, across the full span of life.
