The concept of “community” in the context of mobile hunter-gatherer peoples of the early Holocene is itself complex — these were not settled villages with fixed membership, but networks of mobile families and small groups whose composition changed seasonally and over longer time scales.
The child was part of some such network, connected to other people through kinship and cooperation, but the nature of those connections is beyond recovery from a single tooth.
We do not know whether the Ancient Beringian community on the Seward Peninsula at 9,000 years was isolated from other communities, in regular contact with neighboring groups, or actively interacting with the Northern Native American populations that appear to have been expanding through Alaska at roughly this period.
The population dynamics of the period — which groups were where, what interactions were occurring, what the demographic trends were — require far more evidence than currently exists to characterize.
