The Accounting
When you write something down that has to last, put in one line that does not depend on anybody being good.
Arthur Thorne could not stop my mother being a trustee.
He could not see thirty years forward.
Everything else in that instrument depended on somebody behaving and nobody behaved.
And he put two lines at paragraph fourteen saying that no trustee may also be the guardian, and those two lines are the reason a twenty-nine-year-old carpenter got handed a thirty-hour-old baby in a hospital in Georgetown instead of a stranger.
Everything in this account that is good came out of that paragraph.
