The Accounting
I sold my grandfather’s lathe for four hundred dollars to buy soy formula in the November of 2006, and there was a trust sitting in Denver that November with seven hundred and twelve thousand dollars in it, and the instrument said health, education, maintenance and support, and I never once asked.
Part Thirteen: Frank Dorsett
I took the signed papers to Frank Dorsett on the twenty-eighth of November 2006, six days after I had already signed them, which tells you the order I do things in.
Frank was the only lawyer in Silver Plume who did not do work for the mine or the county, which meant he was the only one who would look at anything to do with my mother.
His office was above the feed store and smelled of damp carpet and he charged me nothing because he had been at school with my father.
