Chapter 16 — The Conference Room

Forty-eight hours later I stood in the sunlit conference room of Katarina’s firm, beside my father.

Casper and Rasmus came in with their family lawyer.

Casper looked terrible — rumpled suit, red eyes, the Sunday-morning swagger entirely gone.

Freya was not there; Katarina had barred her from the premises under threat of a civil harassment warning.

Casper looked at me across the long table, his hands not quite steady.
