Chapter 5 — The Notary Office
The next morning, Raymond, Florence, and Stephanie walked into the notary’s office in expensive clothes, as if arriving at a celebration. Stephanie was on her phone.
“I’ll have control of the company within the hour,” she said, “and then we sell the house.”
They didn’t notice my attorney, Samantha, sitting in the next room with two fraud investigators. The notary set the documents on the table.
“Mr. Devin, do you recognize this power of attorney?”
I looked at Stephanie. “I want to hear your whole plan out loud first.”
