Mary Ross was, in the most accurate possible sense, evidence that the category of aerospace engineer should include Cherokee women from Oklahoma who had been educated in mathematics and had spent years working with numbers before they ever saw the inside of an aircraft company.
That evidence was not fully read during her career.
