The Crate in the Parking Lot
It was ninety-four degrees at three in the afternoon and there were misters and everybody complained about the heat and nobody left.
The six of them got ready in a room at the end of the building from about eleven.
I was not in there for most of it, obviously.
I was in and out.
What I saw, in the pieces I saw, was this.
Bea arrived at eleven-forty.
She had driven from the motel and she came in and she did not say anything to anybody and she sat down in a chair in the corner and Ines brought her a coffee, and about twenty minutes later I came in for something and Bea was doing Willa’s hair.
That is it.
