Now there was a person in my foyer, and my husband was asking me to do the actual work of it with my own two hands, and every part of me recoiled.

That recoiling, I understand now, was the most honest look at myself I had ever been given.

Muttering under my breath, I led the woman up the stairs to the master bath, and before I turned to face her I pulled on a pair of heavy rubber cleaning gloves.
