The Deed to the Kingdom
Chapter 15 — The Merger
Marius was hosting a globally televised press conference at noon to announce a historic multi-billion-dollar merger between Kestrel Worldwide and Dalloway Logistics — Sena’s father’s company.
It was, of course, the takeover Sena had spent a year engineering, dressed up as a friendly union of equals.
Marius believed he was ascending.
He did not understand that the moment his signature touched that merger document, Aldous Dalloway’s board intended to move on him — that he was not the groom at this wedding but the dowry.
Two predators had found each other over his shoulder, and he was too busy being flattered to notice that neither of them was looking at him with anything like respect.
