“You haven’t fished since 2019,” I said.

“I’m going to start.”

“So you’re taking a hobby you don’t have.”

“I’m taking the gear because it’s mine.” He set the rods by the door.

“The boat can come later.”

He carried the suitcase to the front door and set it down.

Then he came back for the rods and the plastic box of lures.

He went out to the truck and loaded them in the bed.
