Chapter 13 — The Meeting

By Tuesday a mandatory videoconference had been called for every regional director in the company.

Zane phoned Blaise in a fury, demanding to know who had authorized a “microscopic review” of his region.

“Tomorrow at nine,” Blaise told him, without heat.

“You’ll meet the person this company answers to.”

When the meeting opened, the screen filled with a grid of fifty directors, Zane in the center square in his sharpest navy suit, wearing the confident smile of a man sure he could charm his way through a compliance check.
