I got a paper evidence bag from the drawer — paper, not plastic, because that is what you use for anything that might be wet, which I remembered from a training in 2009 and which turned out to matter — and I held it open and she dropped it in.

I sealed it, initialed the seal, and wrote on the label: 4:17 PM 4/9.
