“Were you still married to her when you proposed to me?”
Dominic said nothing.
That silence answered for him.

Natalie turned her eyes to me. “Did you know about me?”
“Not at first,” I replied. “By the time I found out, I was pregnant. He told me he was traveling for work, that money was tight, that his mother needed help. Then one day, his number just stopped working.”
Dominic rubbed his face, his hands shaking. “Audrey, please. Not in front of the children.”
I almost laughed. “Now you care what they hear?”
