The Guest List
It is polite to the point of apology.
I counted, in the February of this year, sitting at a table with all of this in front of me, and I apologized four separate times in four paragraphs for taking up his time.
I described the name.
I described the calculator.
I said Julian was eating lunch alone.
I said I did not want anybody to get in trouble, which is a sentence I would like to go back in time and take out of my own mouth with my hands.
