And at the kerb, with the engine off, she said:

“Mom.

Has anybody at my school ever filled one of those in about me?”

And I said, “Do you think they have?”

And she said, “No.

Nothing’s happened to me.

I just realized I wouldn’t know.”

She requested her own file three weeks later.
