We do two things.
We give nineteen scholarships a year.
Nineteen, not three hundred.
They are four thousand dollars each, they are renewable for four years, and they go to students from six districts in this part of the state, and the selection criterion is written in a single sentence that I wrote myself at a kitchen table and that my brother tried three times to make more professional:
This scholarship is for a student who has spent a significant part of school without a place to sit.
