In July, six months later, and the six months are mine and I have stopped apologizing for them, because I have since sat in rooms with about thirty women and the median is not six months, it is somewhere between two and four years.

Part Nineteen: Minnesota

I am going to do Douglas’s ending quickly, because it is the part everybody wants expanded and it has almost nothing to do with my son.

The decree was entered in the September of 2014.

The financial part took twenty-two months and I got substantially less than I should have, because I settled, because Julian was starting community college and Maya was six and I wanted it over, and because my lawyer told me plainly that I was settling early and I did it anyway.

That was my decision and I have never blamed anybody for it.
