The Hidden Compartment
I stared at the columns of zeroes. “Explain.”
“The Pentagon allocates billions for veteran rehabilitation and advanced body armor,” Rachel said, tapping her pen. “The Vances steered those defense funds into their charity, claiming they were developing next-gen ceramic plating and elite care for wounded operators.
But the money never went to R&D. It never went to hospitals. It was laundered through the charity, washed clean, and pumped into offshore political slush funds and untraceable real estate.”
“How much?”
“At least forty-five million over the last three years alone. But it gets worse. Harrison used your architecture to mask the transfers. If DoD auditors ever found it, your digital signature sits at the bottom of every phantom invoice.
He was setting you up to take the fall.”
