The House in the Photographs
Renata is four years older than me and she is a hospital pharmacist and she is, on a list of people you would want to arrive at unannounced, somewhere in the top two in the country.
She said, “Okay.” She made tea I did not drink.
She took her children to their father’s.
She came back at nine.
And in the four hours between those two things I sat at a kitchen table in a wedding-guest dress and I built a file.
That is the only way I know how to describe it.
