The House in the Photographs
My body went and got that.
It went and got it before anybody consulted me.
So what I did, in the third row, on the bride’s side, with my hands shaking badly enough that Dolores asked me twice if I was all right, was take out my phone and photograph the ceremony.
Everybody was photographing the ceremony.
It is the one event in American life where a woman holding up a telephone is invisible.
I took nineteen photographs and two videos.
