The Ledger I Finally Cleared
Now, for the length of one signature, I turned their own assumption back on them.
They believed I was too emotional to think, so I let them keep believing it, and I signed a document I had no intention of honoring, knowing that a guarantor agreement signed under fraudulent inducement, with the fraud already recorded, wasn’t worth the paper it was on.
They thought they were binding me to a debt.
They were signing, in front of a witness they didn’t know I had, proof that the whole admission was a con.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do to people who underestimate you is let them keep doing it for thirty more seconds.
