It is one of the most intimate pieces of evidence the ice preserved.

The Landscape Today And The People Who Know It

The Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park, where Kwäday Dän Ts’ìnchi was found, is today one of the most remote protected landscapes in Canada.

Access is primarily by air or by river — the Tatshenshini and Alsek rivers attract a small number of expedition rafters and kayakers each summer, and the surrounding mountains and glaciers draw a limited number of climbers and researchers.

There are no roads into the core of the park, and the weather and terrain make much of it accessible only to experienced wilderness travelers.
