And then, for two years, I got very good at making sure nobody could see what I had seen.

Both of those are the same man.

I have stopped waiting for one of them to cancel the other.

What I have instead is a room, once a month, with eleven people in it who move patients for a living, and fifteen minutes in the middle of it that nobody else would have thought to include.

That is not redemption.

I have looked at it from every angle and it is not.

It is just the one true thing I know, said out loud, to people who will be standing in that corridor after I am not.
