Nobody reads it; that is not a criticism of anybody, it is simply what those documents are, and the people who do read them read four sections and skip the rest.
I read it because I had started, some time in the spring, to have a low background feeling that I could not name, and because a man with a low background feeling and a two-hour flight will do almost anything rather than sit with it.
Page 114 is in a section called Management and Governance Following the Merger.
The sentence says that upon completion of the transaction, Vivienne Bramhall will serve as Chief Executive Officer of the combined company, and that the parties have structured the transaction in reliance on the continuity of her leadership.
Underneath it is a short paragraph describing Section 7.3 in summary form, which is how I learned that Section 7.3 existed, on a plane, from a document that had been publicly filed for three weeks and that four hundred thousand shareholders had been mailed.
