It does not participate in the mystery in the way that people do — it simply contains what was placed in it.

The people who placed Crazy Horse in that land knew what they were doing.

They were returning him to the country that had formed him, the country he had spent his life trying to protect, the country that the United States government had been trying to take from the Lakota through the same series of events that ended with his death.

They were giving him back to the land.
