The gap between what is established and what is not established is large.

The 1918 letter is evidence that Skull and Bones members in 1918 believed they had Geronimo’s skull.

It is not evidence that they actually had it.

And it is not evidence about where anything is today.

CT Insider’s 2023 Investigation

In 2023, the CT Insider — the Connecticut Insider, a Hearst publication — published an investigation that added new documentary evidence to the story.

The investigation, by reporter Ben Lambert, uncovered additional unpublished letters from the same collection at Yale’s archives that contained the 2006 Wortman letter.
