The Santa Fe Reporter account of the story notes that this document’s provenance is not fully established, and that its relationship to the authenticated 1918 Wortman letter is unclear.

If the photograph exists and can be located — if Anderson retained copies, or if others have access to it — it could provide visual evidence about the skull claimed to be Geronimo’s.

A skull in a glass case inside the Tomb, photographed at a specific time, could potentially be compared to forensic records of what Geronimo’s skull would have looked like based on photographs taken during his lifetime.
