In some cases, objects appeared to have fallen from elevated positions, suggesting shelves or storage areas above the floor level.
In others, objects were found in clusters that suggested they had been stored together, perhaps in containers that did not survive, or had been in use together at the time of the slide.
The arrangement of objects within the houses was not simply a curiosity.
