The walls were formed by split cedar planks attached to horizontal rails between the posts.

The planks were not permanently fixed but could be removed and reused when a household moved, or replaced when individual planks were damaged.

The floor plans of the Ozette longhouses varied in size, but the largest were substantial structures capable of housing multiple family groups.

Within the house, the arrangement of family areas followed a consistent pattern documented in ethnographic sources: family units occupied sections along the walls, with a sleeping platform raised above the floor level and a hearth on the floor in front of the sleeping area.

Storage was arranged above and below the sleeping platform and on shelving systems attached to the house posts.
