The Note Nobody Read
Part Sixteen: The Glass
I am forty-two now.
I run a fund.
It is not enormous — we are at two hundred and twenty million across two vehicles — and we do early-stage industrial and infrastructure software, which is unfashionable and which I understand better than almost anything else in the world.
I raised the first vehicle eleven months after the divorce.
Four of my nine anchor LPs were people who had watched what happened at Vextor Dynamics, and two of them said so during diligence, and one of them said — and I am quoting — “I want the person who found it, not the person who ran it.”
That is the entire professional consequence of this story, and I did not engineer it, and I would have preferred a quieter route.
