Part Five: How I Actually Found Out

In February 2024, I was doing what I had done every February for eleven years, which was assembling the tax package for our personal return, including the substantiation for Christopher’s business mileage deduction, because he had never once in his life kept a mileage log and I had been reconstructing them from his calendar since 2014.
